Photo - Kenworth 849 heavy hauler 1973 model, 425 CAT, front view.  In 2001, while I was hauling heavy, T.E.Cory contacted me with some heavy haul trucks he had for sale.  He sent photos and spec's and this rebuilt 1973 model was powered by a 1693TA @ 425 horse.  Truck was factory rated at 100 ton.  1200 x 24 front rubber and 1100 x 22 on the drives.  Transmission was a 5960 Allison 6 speed, with a 2 speed auxillary.  Winch was rated at 50 tons and chain driven.  VIckers power steering.  Rear ends were Timkin SFDD 4640,s rated @ 65,000 lbs. That yellow piece of steel on the fifth wheel is the ballast.
